Wearing Isle of Mine Belize Dress

I was researching online for a new fashion post and I discovered a new store called Stylefast. While I looked through their stock, I came across the Isle of Mine Carpri Blue Belize dress.

I’ve mentioned before that I have been looking for dresses and tops that are breastfeeding friendly and when I saw this dress and saw that it was only $39.95, I had to have it.

I can’t actually find the dress that I bought online, but it comes in the blue version as seen below. I wanted the orange because I thought it wouldn’t be see through and I’ve also got a blue chevron dress in my wardrobe already.

This dress is definitely breastfeeding friendly and it is an oversized fit which means it hides all my lumps and bumps since having Phoebe. It’s also light weight and breathable which is a must in summer, especially when you are feeding a bub. I sweat so much when I breastfeed in Summer so it’s important I find dresses that don’t cling and can breathe.

Isle of Mine Dress

I ended up buying two more dresses from Stylefast because I am finding that I’m rushing in the mornings to get away on time if we are meeting someone and a dress is easy to chuck on as opposed to shorts and tops.

I feel like I’ve been spending a lot on clothes lately but after doing a wardrobe edit, I was in need of some dresses that fit my current body shape and hide the wobbly bits that I will eventually need to work on.

I will reveal my other two purchases at a later stage but they are all breastfeeding friendly and incorporate the bright colours I’ve been loving this season.

What trends are you loving this season and what colours would I find in your wardrobe?

Get to know your local Boutique – Instyle Boutique

Last Thursday night I went to the Forest Lake Instyle Boutique VIP Night.  I had been meaning to go to one for a while and after having a pretty crazy week with the girls, I told Jacob I wanted to go and we had to be organized so that I could get there promptly for the 7pm start.

When I got to the boutique I was in love with all the clothes that were on offer. I am loving colour at the moment and have been slowly adding colourful pieces to my wardrobe. There were gorgeous kaftans, capes, maxi dresses and tops that I wished I could have bought had I had enough funds… but I ended up buying three kaftans (one will be a giveaway here soon) and two necklaces.

Instyle Clothes

Instyle Boutique is located at my local shopping centre where I go to get my groceries. It’s only five minutes up the road and I love that I have the option of supporting a local shop when needing some retail therapy or a new outfit. I’m apart of their VIP program which means I get discounts after a few purchases and get emails about sales and invitations to their VIP nights.

It’s important to get to know your local boutique because your purchases support a small business and the boutique staff will help you make great styling choices. You can really build a rapport with the staff and I honestly believe this is what makes a great shopping experience. I have the same relationship with the Store Manager at my nearest Witchery store.

The VIP nights at Instyle Boutique are well worth the visit because there was 20% of all new stock and the shop was stocked with gorgeous, new items. There was bubbly and nibblies on offer, make-up tips, vouchers to try a local hair salon in the centre and each attendee received a special gift.

Adorne Beads

The brands Instyle Boutique offer include Caroline Morgan, Boho Australia, Ruby Yaya and many more. The accessories are from Adorne which would have to be one of my favourite accessory stores in Brisbane.

Instyle Boutique has stores at Forest Lake, Calamvale, Cannon Hill and the newly opened Garden City. They have a Facebook page which is worth following to keep up with new styles when they are added to their stores.

If you are looking for some summer updates for your wardrobe and you live in Brisbane, you need to head to Instyle Boutique. You will love the clothes and the prices.

Do you have a local boutique that you support when it comes to purchasing clothes?

The Embellished Kaftan

On the weekend I went away to Ballina with the family. Despite the warm weather, I found the water to be a bit too cool for my liking. Anyway someone had to hold Phoebe while my other two daughters played in the water.

Phoebe and I at the pool. Not much swimming happened but we had a lot of cuddles.

Sometimes I’m never sure whether I want to go for a swim or not, but I have learned to always put my swimmers on just in case. I usually wear a casual dress to cover up, but this time I wore my embellished kaftan. I wore this kaftan during my pregnancies with Magdalene and Phoebe. It was a bargain $29.95 from Tree of Life and I was drawn to it because of the bright colours and jewel embellishment at the opening of the bust.

Kaftan Goodness

Kaftan Up Close

The Embellished Kaftan is becoming more of a staple outfit as opposed to a beach cover up thanks to designers like Camilla. But I still don’t mind wearing a bit of bling to the pool or the beach. I love that I can wear this kaftan at home over a black maternity singlet and skinny jeans and be able to breastfeed in it. I’m all for versatile pieces that can be worn on a number of occasions.

I tried to put a collage together of some embellished kaftans but there were limited sizes in the ones I found or none in stock. It’s definitely a popular style to try this season. Places to look at for embellished kaftans include Blue Bungalow, Treasure Emporium, Tree of Life, and Boho Australia.

Do you wear beaded or embellished kaftans to the beach or by the pool? Where have you purchased yours?

A summer outfit for under $50

When Ms Mystery Case made the challenge to create an outfit for under $50 I thought it would be an easy challenge. I found the $100 outfit challenge fairly easy so I didn’t think I’d have a problem with creating an outfit under $50.

But I have taken a couple of hours browsing on the internet to find an outfit that would come under the $50 cut off. It hasn’t been as easy as I thought. The shoes always seem to add too much to my budget, so in the end I went with thongs.

ASOS has some fantastic kimonos in at the moment and their pricing is so cheap. I love the pattern on the one below. I based my outfit on the $10 knit dress from Mix Apparel. It also comes in a mulberry colour which would go well with the kimono as well. I chose a pendant necklace to finish the outfit off.

This is my summer outfit for under $50.

Wearing Bohemian Traders Boheme Dress in Cobalt

I’m on a mission to find breastfeeding dresses that aren’t maternity wear. It’s a new season in my life where I no longer need those maternity clothes and I’ve been determined to find clothes that allow me to feed Phoebe easily and are breezy to wear during summer.

I have been impressed so far with my previous Bohemian Traders purchases so when I went to look at their new stock, I really loved the pattern and style of the Boheme Dress in Cobalt. I was excited to read in the description that it would allow for breastfeeding. Happy Days for me!

Boheme Dress in Cobalt

When I received the dress in the mail, I loved the vibrant colours. The picture doesn’t show the green details in the pattern. To accessorise the dress I added an orange sash as a belt and a necklace that I’ve had sitting in my wardrobe for ages which tied the orange and green together.

The dress is easy to wear and perfect for summer. I rolled up the sleeves to make them shorter. The length is longer than I expected but I prefer more length when I’m bending down to pick up kids.

The Boheme Dress comes in other patterns and colours including Indigo, Vine and Teal. I’m tempted to add the other colours to my wardrobe if only I had more funds. This dress was purchased from excess funds made from ebay sales.

Do you own any Bohemian Trader’s pieces? What’s your favourite item from the new collection?
