I bought three dresses to wear for Christmas Day. I know crazy and indulgent. I usually buy two – one to wear on Christmas Eve to church and another to be worn on Christmas Day.
The dress I intended to wear was a red Firefly dress which fit me well except around my belly. Such a bummer about the fit, I emailed the online shop where I purchased the dress from to see if I could swap the Large for an Extra Large, but because the dress had been featured on Styling You, it had sold out.
Not to worry. I still wanted the dress and I know that when the baby weight starts to drop off, the dress will fit me perfectly.
The next dress I bought was the Ahoy dress from Bohemian Traders but there were no large sizes left so I got the medium and although it fit me well too – that little pot belly decided to stick out again!
The third and final dress was the Bahama Maxi Dress in Chilli from Adrift. I have had my eye on it for a while and when it went on sale, I snapped it up. Unfortunately the same dress is no longer available, but this is a similar style if you are interested. There is enough drape and V-neck to allow for breastfeeding too.
I love the colours in the dress and the cross-over at the bust makes it very breastfeeding friendly.
So friendly it revealed a bit too much of my cleavage so I wore a black nursing singlet underneath for modesty and teamed the dress with my gold and black sandals from Tony Bianco which I bought last season.
A multi- coloured dress like this can be accessorized quite easily. I could have opted for some fine jewellery, or costume jewellery and I chose the latter to make more of a statement for Christmas Day.
The dress drapes in all the right places and camouflaged a Christmas Food Baby very well. 🙂
