I am the accessory Queen. I love a good accessory and I am quite picky. I won’t buy an accessory unless I absolutely love it or I know that I will wear it with something I already own in my wardrobe. I love that accessories can create different looks for the one outfit. If I feel like I need to add something new to my wardrobe and don’t want to spend a fortune, I will buy an accessory.
This post is specifically for bright or mixed coloured accessories for Summer 2013. I love bold and bright accessories and you should definitely incorporate some of these styles to your own accessory collection.
One of the concerns that most women have in relation to wearing accessories is working out what is too much and what can be worn together. My advice is to look in the mirror and experiment what you feel looks good and comfortable. Own your style and be confident. If you want to wear your dangly earrings, a bold necklace and some wrist candy, go for it. But if you feel like a Christmas tree, or it feels too heavy, then don’t because you want to be comfortable and confident. As a loose rule here are some ideas to keep the accessory wearing balance:
bold earrings +bangles/bracelets
stud earrings + bold necklace
scarf + bold bangles/bracelets
Once you get the hang of wearing accessories, you can then layer necklaces of different lengths or layer different style bangles to add interest to your outfit.
Here are some current season pickings for Bright Accessories for Summer 2013. (I had to put in some of my resin bangles because they were only fitting for this blog post 😉
1. Styled by Bec Three Shades of Pink Square Bangle Set $55.00
2. Rhyley Design Brooch $4.50
3. Mimco Rise to Rani Wrist Bracelet $59.95
4. Mimco Petite Spot Stud $59.95
5. Emily Green Tiffany 9 bead necklace $49-$65
Mixing coloured accessories is as simple as finding a necklace with different colours and coordinating an earring or bangle with the colours in the necklace. The colours don’t have to be exactly the same, they can be similar toned because your accessories aren’t usually worn close together.
1. Emily Green FE 9 Bead Necklace $49-$65
2. Witchery Colour Spliced Wood Earring $19.95
3. Witchery Hexagon Cuff $39.95
4. Sussan Multi Stripe Scarf $29.95
5. Sussan Short Shell Necklace $29.95
Do any of these accessories pick your fancy? Where do you usually buy your accessories from?
